What's R? 1R is the risk on a trade — the gap from your entry to your stop-loss. Example: enter at 100 with a stop at 90, so that gap of 10 is 1R; make 20 and it's +2R, get stopped out and it's −1R. R lets you compare every trade on the same scale no matter the position size — it's a multiple of risk, not an amount of money or a rate of return.
